The Director General of Tourism, Marina Garcia, mayor of Cehegín, Jose Soria, the councilors of Tourism, Works and Services, April, and Juan Antonio Francisco Chico, respectively, and the manager of the Greenway Consortium, Juan Soria, visited works in the hostel for pilgrims from the former railway station, scheduled to open this July.
These works, which are being carried out by companies Infer and MUNAGAR, with a final investment of around 400,000 euros, will turn the enclave into a mandatory stopping point for pilgrims and wayfarers of the Greenway.
In this building, which has three floors, will spend the night 48 people per night, and which has 24 berths allocated among its top two floors, in addition to several bathrooms with showers and adapted for the disabled.
The ground floor, however, will host the reception, storage, toilets and a café with outdoor terrace.
For its part, the two adjoining buildings will be rehabilitated to become a multipurpose room, laundry and toilets.
According to Marina García, "this work will be great because the building and the location is superb."
