The City Council is finalizing the work of adapting the building of the old pensioner's home, located in Cuesta del Parador, so it can be used by groups of pilgrims who want to spend the night in Cehegín.
The Board of Trustees of the Royal Mercy Hospital, owner of the property, accepted the proposal made by the City to temporarily cede that using this building for this purpose.
Currently many groups of pilgrims use the M3 sports hall for the night, so that this facility would be dedicated to this purpose and thus did not alter the functioning of the flag.
For now work is underway to clean and have private bathrooms with showers installed so they can be used by pilgrims.
Users will be able to sleep on mats on the floor with their bags.
You will enable a dining room with tables and chairs, microwave and refrigerator, so they can heat and food preservation.
It is envisaged that these facilities, designed for large groups of between 50 and 150, are open before the end of the month of May.
