The departments of Education and Public Safety, led by Nicholas Del Toro and María Dolores Carrasco, have launched a new local initiative to establish the figure of the police-tutor in secondary schools in Cehegín, to be able to intervene in incidents happen in schools and in their environment.
Among its functions shall work for the welfare of children during their stay in the center, and promote positive attitudes towards the values of coexistence, solidarity and tolerance, in addition to education activities and civic road to help prevent conflicts in the school community and to prevent antisocial behavior and ensure their safety.
For now be treated as urgent issues such as truancy and in retail drug sales in the vicinity of schools.
In fact, are already studying several cases of prolonged absence, to be discussed in depth, in coordination with teachers and municipal social services.
On Monday, the police-tutor to the center sent eight students who were in the street during school hours.
These actions will be watched closely by the new figure, which is part of the educational community of High Cehegín.
