The Ombudsman for the Region of Murcia, José Pablo Ruiz Abellán, visited Cehegín to stand for its citizens and raise awareness of the functions of this new public figure, appointed to ensure the rights and freedoms of these, and to ensure transparency of government.
Ruiz Abellán has been received at City Hall by the mayor, Jose Soria, and members of his government team, with which it has held a preliminary meeting for the first touchdown and put them on top of the main problems dealt with from this new institution, which has been managed more than 420 requests.
Through the 'Single Window' Cehegín City Council or from the website www.defensor-rm.es , citizens can report a specific situation with the administration, the Ombudsman acting as a mediator to reach the best possible solution and this free service.
Still, the decisions that finally the Ombudsman are recommendations, not legal decisions, so it always proposes solutions for settlement or agreements to settle the problem quickly.
