The Autonomous Community and the City of Cehegín 263,000 euros have been invested in carrying out various works of urbanism in the neighborhood of the bullring with the aim of increasing commercial activity.
The Minister of Universities and Research Company, Salvador Marin, and the local mayor, Jose Soria, visited yesterday afternoon in the works, which are part of the Plan to Enhance the Retail Distribution Sector of the Region of Murcia 2008-2010, and included improved lighting and the adequacy of sidewalks in that neighborhood, "resulting in an appreciable improvement in the conditions of the commercial offer and values the area to open new stores" Marin said.
The Minister of Enterprise said that the objectives of the Plan to Promote Retail found the actions of commercial urbanism, "which helps to improve urban areas and make them more attractive to both customers and the launch of new businesses , as is clear from this action in Cehegín. "
Also, Salvador Marín emphasized that "these public works are an impetus for trade and for the construction sector and related industries, as well as a benefit to the citizens, who are improving the environment in which they live."
In particular, the work has involved the installation 32 mercury vapor lights to high pressure metal halogen and installation of new street lighting network, widening sidewalks, pavement provided with granite (1,342 square meters of slab) , and the asphalting of the road (5269 meters square of asphalt four inches thick).
It has also provided the avenue in the neighborhood of the arena of special furniture, with 30 bins and eight banks, as well as identifying the Mall Open Cehegín.
In the performance of business planning, developed in two phases, the Directorate General of Trade and Crafts has invested 185,000 euros and the rest of the budget to complete the 263,000 euros, was paid by the City Council.
The execution of the work generated 12 jobs.
The Minister of Universities, Business and Research concluded by emphasizing that "collaboration and joint initiatives of the regional administration and local government are essential to develop projects that promote job creation and improve the quality of life for citizens of the Region .
The Plan to Promote Retail Distribution Sector of the Region of Murcia 2008-2010 contains 59 measures to modernize and ensure greater productivity and competitiveness to the sector.
The Plan has three strategic areas of action, such as increased investment in urban areas to improve the environment (business planning) implementation of information technologies and communications in small businesses, and boosting training of employees and business owners.
