The Plenary Hall Cehegín City Council has welcomed the signing of the agreement between the municipality and the financial institution MicroBank, La Caixa, to microcredit.
The local mayor, Jose Soria, and Microbank commercial director, Ramón Gatell, have signed this cooperation agreement to provide small loans of € 15,000 for training and small enterprise development in the municipality, in order to help people with limited resources and groups that encourage the production, development and job creation.
These credits, which have a 6.25 percent interest, may be called either at City Hall or at the office that La Caixa has Alpargatero Square.
According to the mayor, "is a push that we give to traders, with the intention to solve the issue of unemployment and promote employment."
For its part, the organization says that "these microloans are supported by the fact that over 44 percent of people who request them are women and over 57 percent immigrants."
