The director general of Immigration and volunteering, Leopoldo Navarro, today visited the Day Centre St. Francis of Assisi Cehegín, which develops a Summer School attends almost fifty children, 36 of whom are immigrants.
The Summer School is part of the educational project developed by this center that aims to improve the quality of life of younger looking integral development of children, promoting interest in the responsible and caring attitude and working to avoid form of social exclusion that could be led these children.
Working with immigrant children, Navarro said, takes place throughout the year from the perspective of integration and participation in the new society in which they live, and especially in its inclusion within the educational system, to avoid situations school failure.
Other projects underway in this center have been directed Cehegín two distinct groups of children.
On the one hand, the project 'Pipo and me', focused on children between 4 and 10 years and, secondly, the project 'Edukators', for children between 11 and 16 years of age.
In both cases develop workshops and arts activities, self-esteem, relaxation, games, entertainment, leisure, health education, social skills, cognitive skills, body language, sports and crafts.
It also works on the school track children by providing educational support and coordination services with their tutors.
On the other hand, have also been planned cultural activities such as outings, excursions, participation in festive activities of the municipality or the Summer School are now participating.
