The Local Coordination Committee against Gender Violence has held one of its regular meetings every three months to discuss gender violence prevention, through inter-agency coordination, as explained by the Councillor for Social Services, Women Equality and Health of the City of Cehegín, Antonia Fernández Nieto.
The table is made by the Councillor said the Councillor for Citizen Security, Joaquín López Carreño, the Councillor for Education, Maravillas Fernandez, representatives of Social Services, CAVI, Health Center Cehegín, Civil Guard, local police and Technique Department of Women.
It has analyzed the situation of gender violence in our town, and the data provided by both the Civil Guard and the local police, a downward trend of 50% in a year shows, 2014 and 2015 cases of domestic violence in our city;
although the Councillor for Women has said that "despite this considerable reduction, we must continue working, joining forces at all levels, helping to end the scourge of violence against women".
We recall that the board aims to improve early detection of cases, to promote coordination of agents, actions and resources;
provide care and agile response to victims, improve protection for high risk victims, and to inform and sensitize professionals and citizens.
