Cehegín City Council, through its Mayor, Jose Rafael Rocamora, reports that it is completely forbidden to fire on the mountain and agricultural burning, until 30 September.
This ban is due to reasons of environmental, economic and social interest, motivated by the special and unfavorable weather conditions justifying extreme measures to combat forest fires.
The ban, which are regulated by the Resolution of the Directorate General for the Environment, published in the BORM of May 16 began on May 15 and end on September 30.
Mayor calls for special attention and cooperation of citizens when it comes to respect this regulation, particularly on the prohibition of throwing matches, cigarette ends, hot coals or ashes;
use explosives on farms or civil works, highways, roads, quarries and the like, if their scope may impact on forest lands;
shed outside the containers provided for this purpose or authorized landfill waste, with the passage of time or other circumstances, can cause combustion.
The Mayor also recalls the importance of calling emergency services through 112, to observe a forest fire or smoke plume.
It is also advisable to know the environment and the risks that can be found;
it helps take steps to prevent them from occurring.
