The 2015 Corpus Christi procession will travel this Sunday the streets of the Old Town, as the cortege will leave for harvest in the parish of St. Mary Magdalene.
Organized by the Central Board of Brotherhoods of Easter and the parishes of Cehegín, this procession will feature various developments, as explained by the chairman, Pedro Alfonso de Maya.
The first novelty is that the custody of the Blessed Sacrament will be released under a pavilion on a exornada float with flowers, and not under canopy cover by a priest as has been the case years ago.
In addition, the ten Easter brotherhoods, grouped in pairs, and the Brotherhood of the Virgen de las Maravillas assembled a total of six altars in as many iconic travel spots.
The aim of these developments, according to Pedro Alfonso Maya, "is to give the Corpus Christi procession, the most important liturgically speaking of all those held throughout the year, packaging and brilliance that requires, involving various guilds and associations engalanen to the streets and altars look at them. "
The events begin with a mass at 18:00 in the parish of St. Mary Magdalene.
Then will begin the procession with the following route: Plaza del Castillo, street, square Mesoncico, costs Moreno, Santo Cristo Street Tercia, Perez Villanueva, Ginés de Paco, slope Parador Street West, Angel, square Alfaro , costs of Parador, Lopez-Chicheri, Mesoncico Square, High Street, Castle Square and Church of St. Mary Magdalene.
