The eighteenth edition of Regional Architecture Prize has been awarded a special mention to the Wine School Cehegín and the proposed rehabilitation of the old cellar of the seventeenth century in which is located in the former home of the Third Order of Santiago .
Cehegín Mayor Jose Soria, Councillor for Tourism, Francisco in April, the architect of the project Wine School, José Luis López, municipal technical Santos Guillamón and sommelier Pedro Martinez attended the award ceremony.
The Minister of Development, Public Works and Planning, Francisco Barnabas, said in his speech on the occasion of the presentation of these awards, "The ultimate purpose that encourages us from our different areas of responsibility, must be bequeath to posterity a humanized architecture, a more friendly and livable cities and a more comfortable "society.
The holder of Development stressed about "the commitment of the Government of the Region of Murcia to relaunch an absolutely necessary for economic recovery and job creation as soon as possible become a reality by all sectors of society" and recalled the major milestones that have occurred "having the will and the support of social and economic agents involved in the sector", as the laws of Housing and Lands, the White Paper Building or the Decree on the report Evaluation of Buildings, among other notable landmarks.
In this edition of the awards, which include the organization of the Ministry of Development, Public Works and Planning, the Association of Architects and the Cajamurcia Foundation, attended 91 projects, of which 33 were selected as finalists.
