The Minister of Culture, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, and Cehegín Mayor Jose Soria, inaugurated this afternoon the project works of The Garden of El Coso, one of the most ambitious and important actions that the City of Cehegín has done in the Old Town location.
Pedro Antonio Sánchez stressed that "this work is an example of how to retrieve an urban area and turn it into opportunities, to have this incubator in a strategic location and first class facilities."
Jose Soria explained that the importance of this project is based on that regenerates and adds value to a space that was very run down, integrating it with the rest of the Old Town.
Soria recalled that, of the 4.3 million budgeted for these works, the region and other government has provided 3.5 million, and the City 800,000 euros.
In addition, stressed Soria, 60% of the budget, some 2.5 million euros went to labor, salaries have been paid to many people, most of them Cehegín.
The neighborhood of El Coso located an area of ​​7,000 square meters in the Old Town of Cehegín, was demolished several years ago after being declared bankrupt.
For a time he became a degraded and polluted area for which the City sought a solution in the form of project called 'Oasis', designed by the architects Monica Garcia and Javier Rubio.
The Coso has numerous gardens and waterways;
a building that will house the Business Incubator, an exhibition hall and free public parking with capacity for 30 vehicles.
