The Minister of Education, Culture and Universities, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, and Cehegín Mayor Jose Soria, today inaugurated the public space 'El Coso' and the building for municipal business incubator, a performance that involves the comprehensive regeneration of This area located in the center of historic-artistic town of Cehegín whole.
This infrastructure, which has received an investment of four million euros, "involves social, business and cultural recovery 'El Coso' for all residents and visitors and a source of employment generator to house a business incubator".
In particular, the area of ​​'El Coso' was abandoned for decades, when a storm of snow destroyed the homes.
The process of searching for ideas to recover this area began after the declaration of downtown as historic, artistic and with the Special Protection Plan and complete rehabilitation of the old town (PEPRI) set.
The coordinated work of both administrations, regional and local levels has led to the complete redevelopment of this area and its integration with innovative solutions to overcome the gap and make it a meeting space and urban revitalization.
The complex has a large central space as a square with a grandstand to host social gatherings and cultural activities.
Motor employment
Another key point of this reorganization is the creation of a business incubator in which entrepreneurs Cehegín to develop their businesses and create jobs.
"Certainly 'The Coso' is an example of how to retrieve an urban area and turn it into opportunities, to have this incubator in a strategic location and first class facilities," said Pedro Antonio Sánchez.
The Minister of Culture, with the mayor, toured El Coso and met at the hands of project managers used different technical solutions, noted for eco-efficiency and making optimal use of water as it is designed a system to collect rainwater from different streets and use it for vegetation, plants being responsible for purifying these waters.
Finally, Pedro Antonio Sánchez and José Soria stressed that the remodeling of this part of town is a new attraction for tourism of the town, while enhancing the heritage and historic assembly which is the town of Cehegín, which each year attracts thousands of visitors.
