Caritas Cehegín has signed a cooperation protocol with the Department of Social and Family Cehegín City Council to expedite project work 'Begastri', a restoration workshop and recycling of old or used furniture by promoting and supporting the employment of those who are in a situation of exclusion and vulnerability.
For a period of four years, this protocol will allow to have greater coordination with the Social Work Units (UTS) of the Consistory and Caritas, establishing a monitoring meetings and the procedure for referral of participants.
Also, they can be derived through the UTS if the profile fits the requirements of the labor integration program.
The 'Begastri' Caritas project is funded by the Instituto Murciano Social Action (IMAS) and, in turn, funded by the European Social Fund (ESF).
This project is allowing, at present, twelve people are disadvantaged, of which ten are woodcock daily with funds from the IMAS and Caritas Diocese of Cartagena, to participate in the restoration and furniture recycling workshop, giving them the opportunity to learn labor, social habits and basic knowledge of this craft and practice, thus increasing their access to the labor market.
