To mark World Rare Disease Day, which is February 28, the Association of Rare Disease Genes D'held at the Cultural Hall Cajamurcia photo exhibition 'Rare Diseases Full of Life', consisting of seventy photographs that reflect the will to live of people suffering from these rare diseases and fighting the multiple barriers that this condition puts in their daily work.
The exhibition will remain open until this Saturday, February 28th.
This traveling exhibition has been donated to D`Genes by a member of the Barcelonista rock of Totana, Juan Manuel Martínez Casanova, and is touring all corners of the Region of Murcia.
The inauguration was attended by the mayor of Cehegín, Jose Soria, the councilors of Women and Social Services, María del Mar de Béjar and María José de Maya, respectively, the president of D'Genes, Juan Carrion, and the delegate of this association in the Northwest region, Pascual Donate.
"From D`Genes take advantage of this type of events to raise awareness of rare diseases, a reality that until recently was unknown to most, and we are gradually exposing the sole purpose to help and lend a hand to all those who have been diagnosed with any of the more than 7,000 diseases that exist, "said Pascual Donate, who added that a rare disease can occur at any time of life, at any age and in either sex.
Rare diseases currently affecting more than 85,000 Murcia.
As announced a few days ago, Cehegín is the county seat of Northwest Association for Rare Diseases D'Genes.
