The Traffic Department has launched a campaign of surveillance and control of vans and trucks, which Cehegín City Council has joined, so during this week until next Sunday, February 15, the local police will out daily checks of such vehicles, as explained by the Councillor for Traffic, María Dolores Carrasco.
Among other things, these controls the vehicle documents, mainly compulsory insurance, MOT and transport card is checked;
cargo, safety features and driving times and rest the driver and driving under the influence of alcohol and the use of mobile phones is also verified.
Vans and trucks are responsible for 18% of the national fleet and have been involved in 13% of accidents with victims.
Special features, from transport of cargo, becomes a risk group, so they have to take extra security measures.
