Cehegín City Council has decreed three days of official mourning for the death of three neighboring originated in a fire this morning in a house in the town.
The deceased are Maria Lopez Espín, 72;
Plasencia Hipólito López, 45;
and Francisco Peñalver Plasencia, 5 years old.
The days of mourning will be on Wednesday 31 December, and 1 and 2 January.
The Municipal Corporation was held this afternoon an extraordinary plenary session to "mourn the sad event and convey our condolences on behalf of the city the whole family".
During the three days of official mourning flags government buildings be flown at half-mast with black ribbons.
Have been suspended all acts of the Christmas program organized by the City, and also turn off these days special lighting lights decorating the streets.
Mayor Jose Soria, expressed his gratitude to the Guardia Civil, Local Police, Civil Protection, Fire, emergency services, health and psychologists who have been working all day.
Jose Soria has also thanked the many condolences arrivals Cehegín, including the Bishop of the Diocese of Cartagena, Bishop José Manuel Lorca Planes;
Begastri Bishop, Bishop Juan Antonio Martínez Camino;
the government delegate in the Region of Murcia, Joaquín Bascuñana;
President of the Autonomous Community, Alberto Garre, and various mayors of municipalities in the Region of Murcia.
The Corporation has completed start-up with a minute of silence this extraordinary plenary.
