The House of Culture Cehegín welcomes tomorrow, Tuesday November 25, reading the Manifesto of the World Day Against Gender Violence in events organized by the Department of Women and Equality headed by Maria del Mar de Béjar.
To commemorate this day is to continue raising awareness about this social evil and promote real equality between men and women.
From 18:00 hours there will be an exhibition of zumba organized by the Sports Department and then from the Department of Women and Equality will proceed to read the manifesto of the World Day Against Gender Violence.
The mayor María del Mar de Béjar also recalls that the three centers of the municipality where secondary education, Vega of Argos and Alquipir institutes and the Concerted Colegio Nuestra Señora de las Maravillas is taught, are hosting talks aimed at teenagers.
In these sessions working with young people on roles in society, socially accepted discriminatory practices and other matters aimed at preventing gender violence in the future.
The December 17, 1999, the United Nations General Assembly designated 25 November as the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
The UN invited governments, international organizations and NGOs to organize activities to raise public awareness of the problem in this day as an international celebration organizations.
