On the occasion of the feast of St. Cecilia, patron saint of musicians, the Musical Society and Choir Cehegín Cehegín City acted in the Almudena Cathedral playing at Mass 19:00 Saturday November 22 the 'Missa Brevis' by Jacob de Haan.
Until Madrid have moved to attend the ceremony the mayor, José Soria, the councilors of Culture and Celebrations, Nicolás del Toro and Rubén Sánchez, respectively, and the president of the Brotherhood of Our Lady of Wonders, Alfonso City, and numerous cehegineros who wanted to wrap his presence musicians and singers.
Begastri Bishop, Bishop Juan Antonio Martínez Camino, presided at the Mass and during the homily recalled his visit to Cehegín, where he could visit the ruins of the archaeological complex of Begastri and pray before the Virgen de las Maravillas.
The bishop has emphasized the great love of music that exists in Cehegín and stressed the loudness of both musical groups and effort for them to move to Madrid.
The Mass ended with the interpretation of the Hymn to the Virgin of Almudena, rehearsed for the occasion by the Musical Society and Choir Cehegín City, whose presidents, and Rafael Gonzalez and Alfonso Gil, have been very satisfied with the result acting.
