The Musical Society Cehegín participate for the second consecutive year in the National Contest of Bands 'Ciudad de Murcia', organized by the city this city and this year celebrates its twenty-fourth edition.
Last year ceheginera formation directed by Rafael Gonzalez won the first prize in this competition in its Section Three.
The event will take place this coming Saturday, November 15, at the Romea Theatre Murcia.
The Musical Society Cehegín participate with the Musical Union Horadada (Alicante) and the Musical Arts Society of Xuquer D'Alcántera (Valencia).
As explained by the President of Training, José Francisco Ruiz, cehegineros musicians will perform three works.
Two free choice, '100 years of Sighs' and 'Lorca Stamp', and composition required by the organization, which will be 'Egmont'.
In the third section the prizes are: 1,500, 1,300 and 1,100 euros for first, second and third prize respectively.
The panel of judges on a proposal from the Federation of Bands in the Region of Murcia, is composed of the conductor, educator and researcher Juan Jesus Lopez;
by the conductor, composer, teacher and saxophonist Miguel Enrique de Tena and conductor Jaime Ismael Enguídanos.
The event 'Ciudad de Murcia' is one of the most important nationally, as evidenced by the high number of requests for participation from various parts of the country.
