On World Alzheimer's Day, which was held last September 21, the Day Centre 'Virgen Wonderland' held this morning a free training workshop for caregivers, family and professional people with this disease.

"We tried to gain and share experiences and resources for accompaniment and a more humane and stimulating care to help us all grow as caregivers of Alzheimer's," said the center's director, Juan José Gómez.
On the other hand, next Wednesday, October 1, Virgin geriatrician Hospital and Professor of Geriatrics Arrixaca UCAM Dioniosio Juan Aviles, give a talk 'Aging with fullness: necessary and possible' at 11:00 in the Day Centre. "Dr. Avilés try to show the enormous possibilities that have the greatest to live their old age as a meaningful period, with plenty of opportunity to be happy people. Avilés has made several publications on aging issues, directs a group of international researchers and around geriatrics at European level teachers and participate in numerous meetings and seminars on this subject, "said the center's director, Juan José Gómez.
This talk will be the inaugural event of the month of the elderly in the Day Centre. During October, every Friday lunch-gathering which will involve people from different fields always refer to the value of older people in society will be held.
In addition there is provided a self-esteem workshop, a day of social awareness and a film forum.
