Cehegín Mayor Jose Soria, and Councilman Celebration and Youth, Ruben Sanchez, recently visited the Catalan city of Mataró invited by the mayor, Joan Mora, to attend the festivities in honor of the Holy and Semproniana Juliana.
This invitation is part of the institutional relationships that keep both locations since its twinning.
Among the many events in which they participated and Sánchez Soria is remarkable the presence of both, together with the Mayor of Mataró, in the belfry of the church of Santa Maria Maggiore, where a symbolic act of these festivals takes place as the ringing of bells on the eve of the celebrations of patron saints, in which the bells are turned continuously for half an hour.
José Soria, near Mora Joan has also assisted at the main gate of the Mataró City Council welcome the entire Municipal Corporation as well as the invited authorities, most notably the third Vice President of the Congress of Deputies, Dolores Montserrat ;
the vice president of the Catalan government, Juana Ortega, and the mayor of Girona, among others.
Subsequently, all participated in the main church of Santa Maria in the Mass in honor of the Holy Juliana and Semproniana.
José Soria expressed his appreciation and thanks for the hospitality received from the authorities of the city of Mataró sister, as well as the role that at all times wanted the mayor of this city with the highest authority of this holiday Cehegín in honor of Juliana and Semproniana Santas.
