Youth Councilman Ruben Sanchez, attended the closing of the theoretical part of the course of Intergenerational Animation held in the Youth Space in recent weeks with the aim of providing specific training to monitors leisure time that are related to the group of older people.
The 23 participating students have already passed the 30 hours of theoretical training and will now do 15 hours of practical Pensioner's Home and Day Centre Virgen de las Maravillas.
The course has been taught by Adinor Association and has taught students strategies and techniques for the sociocultural intervention with older people;
how to develop a program of activities, learn to use the various resources, the most suitable for each case methodologies, how to organize the group and working techniques.
The course contents have been divided into five modules: Intergenerational Animation with older people;
Profile and dynamic functions;
Rationale for intervention with older people in the area of ​​leisure and recreation;
And group dynamics techniques and Volunteering.
Councilman Young has stressed the importance of this course to provide tools for professionals and volunteers who work with older people.
Also, Rubén Sánchez highlighted how enriching it intergenerational cohabitation, "as young people learn from the experiences of older people and to this sector of the population serves as a stimulus to be in contact with much younger people."
