Intense, exciting and worth remembering the game played this past Sunday in Murcia between our team and the UCAM Begastri.
The party was for life or death, if we vencíamos were saved.
Losing you had to wait Alginet defeat in Paterna track to certify our salvation.
The match started well for Begastri dramatically, very aware of the opportunity they posed and focused on doing good defenses and simple but effective attacks, a large Joseda, with 6 points in this room, and Peri triple and Juan Rubio, more the contribution of Jorge Lledo were instrumental in the first quarter.
Murcia came out with alternative defenses and suffered our great first quarter, 14-20 at the end.
The second quarter started much the same, although it showed that the attitude of Murcia had changed and would not leave it at that far.
Distances soon equalized and so went around this room until the last minute a key play ended with the expulsion of our coach double fulminant technical reasons still unknown, and good tirade of free throws that gave local a great advantage to the break, 44-32.
The third quarter was very even, Begastri came to give everything, aware of the delicate situation that had put the last fateful minute of the first half, but even had approaches, never managed to get 100% on the scoreboard, the most approach was around 10 points away during the third quarter that the local grip shaped midfield triple at the buzzer of the fourth ended with a 68-51 to Murcia.
The last quarter was born with a very strong local advantage, but our team fought with Joel and immeasurable Jorge, never gave the match for lost we though the local push and our diminished reactivity, yet the absence of 3 minutes the team went back to 10 points, 78-68, but until we arrived there.
Then came the news that would change the bench the afternoon Alginet Paterna had beaten 78-71, we were saved and nothing was happening on the track had incidence.
The team called a timeout, enjoyed the news and missing 2 minutes remaining.
The final result was 89-71 as a mere anecdote between the joy of some guys who have never faltered and achieved what seemed impossible not many weeks ago.
