To sensitize the students about conservation of vegetation in arid to avoid combat desertification and aridity and awareness of the importance of the environment are the main objectives of the Environmental Education Program Arid 'Leaf by Leaf', which develops Environment Area Cajamar Foundation in collaboration with the City of Cehegín.
Around 150 students from Elementary 3rd four schools in the town participate in this program, which is divided into two days.
The first one is based on a lecture in which members of the Department of Environment Experiment Station Cajamar the Palmerillas offer basics school environment, explain the most widespread on environmental conservation and report the problem of desertification and deforestation of Southeast.
After the talk, small participated in a workshop dedicated to plant thyme and rosemary in biodegradable pots to learn the difficulty of keeping a plant alive.
These talks and workshops have been held in the Youth Space with the assistance of students from schools Conde Campillos Begastri City, Virgin Wonderland and Our Lady of the Wonders of St. Vincent de Paul.
The second day of this program will be held in November, when the small part a day of planting in an area of ​​the Northwest Greenway.
