Coniun Technology Corporation participates in an ambitious R & D Europe to save tens of millions of euros per year to the industry of nonmetallic minerals.
The initiative also seeks to substantially reduce carbon dioxide emissions with the creation of new System Energy Management.
The initiative Marble Technology Center, the Rock and Materials (CTM-Coniun) and its partners in the consortium, which has a budget of 6.5 million euros, most of them funded by the European Union, is developing a new model and highly effective in improving energy efficiency in this sector intensive energy consumption.
The EE-Quarry initiative seeks not limited to basic improvements such as optimizing the lighting system of the factories, but makes a comprehensive analysis of the entire production process, from the blasting in quarries to access the ore, crushed to stone for many products such as aggregates, talc used as a basis in medicine or sepiolite-litter.
To this end, experts in different fields work together to achieve this comprehensive system of energy management easily transferred to industry and to ensure environmental and economic sustainability of an expanding sector which is characterized by being highly fragmented, with more than 20,000 companies in the European Union as a whole.
Among the studies that are being done and where the CTM-Coniun involved, are the most advanced knowledge of ground geophysics to employ lower explosive charge, depending on their geological characteristics.
Also being analyzed and developed an optimization model of ore transport mechanisms or using artificial vision systems to obtain an efficient crushing of the material.
The bill provides the generation of management software total energy expenditure in the production plants and the application of all the knowledge gained from practical in four quarries in Europe.
In addition to CTM-Coniun located in Cehegín, are partners in this initiative R & D + i Acciona Infrastructures, D'Appolonia SpA, EPC-France, S & B Industrial Minerals, Mostostal Warszawa, Solintel M & P, Aggregates Carmona, Exergy, Mineral Industry Research Organisation and the University of Leicester.
Coniun is a private and independent technological corporation composed of the Technology Center National Preserve (CTC), the Technological Center of Furniture and Wood (CETEM) and the Technology Center of Marble, Stone and Materials (CTM).
Among its innovation units to service any company is specialized in the Energy, Water and Environment.
