'Emotionally Intelligent Parenting' was the theme of the lecture-held yesterday afternoon in the House of Culture in the Municipal Program for Prevention and Control Track Truancy and Dropout Reduction.
Psychologist Ana Peinado was the moderator and host of this activity, especially for parents and teachers, which has had a large number of attendees.
"The talk has been focused on the topic of emotional intelligence education as I believe that is critical to learn to work with adolescents from the point of view of how to manage their emotions. Knowing how to be happy, be happy, have control over us. The goal is to educate parents and teachers on key issues that can work with their children and students, "said Peinado.
Asked about the program 'Alternatives to Expulsion' launched by the Department of Education, Peinado said that "from the point of view of positive psychology is important that students are not only a penalty for failure to to class if you do not learn to perform another task or substitute alternative. For his part, Councillor for Education, Nicholas del Toro, has stated that this alternative to expulsion program is developing an experimental basis in the last quarter of the school year.
