The Municipal Archaeological Museum has opened two new galleries of paleontology with a total of 2,298 fossils from around the world, completing the great cultural offer this facility.
The councilman of Culture of Cehegin, Nicolas del Toro, has led the opening ceremony of the two rooms, which are named 'Miguel Angel Galve, "who has donated the vast majority of the exhibits.
The latter, who is 69 years, explained that "I've been looking for fossils since I was kid, but there are many who have bought, given the difficulties of the mountain."
The museum's director, Francisco Penalver, and biologists Antonio Espin, Pedro Jose Luis Vila and Maya have been responsible for classifying and cataloging all the fossils, so they keep order and consistency throughout exposure.
In this, which is illustrated by work of graphic designer James Sanchez, you can find fish, insects, mollusks, plants, políferos, brachiopods, crustaceans and echinoderms of the Mesozoic and Cenozoic eras.
Both rooms have an educational system different from other agencies, as they have a lighting system and voice-over, that the visitor will explain each of the cabinets with fossils.
The Municipal Archaeological Museum of Cehegin, located in the Plaza del Castillo, is open daily from 10.30 to 13.30.
