The City Council has approved Cehegín Municipal Council, by unanimous vote of the three municipal groups that are represented in the locality (PP, PSOE and IU-VRM), oppose the proposed establishment of the new demarcation court has approved the High Court of Justice, namely the unification of the boundaries of Caravaca, Mula and Molina de Segura with Murcia.
This project aims to reduce to five the eleven judicial districts in the Region of Murcia.
As stated in the House, "the reform would affect all citizens of the Northwest Region, as it would remove the legal jurisdiction of Caravaca, integrating it with Murcia, which would be drawn from 31 courts, with a total of 740,150 inhabitants. "
The City Council thus proposes the creation of 'Judicial Cehegín Party', which unifies existing Caravaca and Mula, based in the municipality, the consistory donating the land for the construction of the courthouse.
This is because the central district that has Cehegin and Caravaca impairment as Mula both would lack sufficient capacity to accommodate all Courts of Justice.
