The Malaga painter Christopher Leon Garcia has won the contest XI Air Painting 'Old Town of Cehegin', thanks to a work that represents a dead end in the oldest part of the town, which has led to 1,500 euros prize.
This one has been followed by Abraham Mendoza Pinto (Utrera) and Cristóbal Pérez García (Málaga), in that order, that have received 650 and 500 euros respectively.
The jury has seen fit to grant also three runners to the following artists: Jaime Jurado Cord (Lucena), Manuel Jimenez Sanchez (Alborg) and Guillermo Soler Ferri (Ontinyent), 300 euros each.
The youth award went to the ceheginero Ivan Lopez Saez (150 euros in paint material and stationery).
The councilman of Culture, Nicolas del Toro, charged with delivering these awards, highlighted "the high quality of the work involved. In fact, this year has been one of the best in terms of painters (40 adults and 4 juveniles) and spectacular pictures. "
Organized by the departments of Tourism and Culture, led by Francisco April and Nicholas del Toro, respectively, has enjoyed the cooperation of companies Carreño Wineries, Supermarkets Navarrete, Juan Oils Wonderland Athemis Advisors and Service Station 'Wonderland' (BP .)
