Cehegín Mayor Jose Soria, and the Councillor for Sports, Antonio Marin, has received in the Plenary Hall of the City Council and Espin Ana Maria Morales, cehegineras gymnasts who have just first and second respectively in the National Championship Base Rhythmic Gymnastics held in Benidorm.
Soria and Marin, who were very impressed after seeing the video of the competition of both athletes, have made delivery of a commemorative plaque to them and Gymnastics Club 'Cehegín City', to which they belong.
Marin has assured them that "today I am very proud that you have athletes like in Cehegin, because what you have done is very important, and a milestone in the sport in town."
For his part, Soria them in advance that "the City Council we will collaborate with these about 30 gymnasts in the club there."
Maria Ruiz Espin in junior class, won the gold medal between 206 gymnasts from all over Spain, with a score of 17,475 points.
With 12 years of age, has been practicing and competing for eight years, this being its third appearance in a national individual basis.
Meanwhile, Ana Maria Morales Puerta, in cadet category, won silver with a score of 16,225 points, between 185 gymnasts.
This ceheginera, 15, has been competing a decade, the second time you saw a national.
Both athletes were greeted by crowds of people in Cehegin Alpargatero Square, where they were loaded with honors and was held together for this historic achievement ceheginera rhythmic gymnastics.
