A year and a half, taking advantage of the opening of Paraje El Seco, the mayor promised the residents to arrange the last stretch of the Greenway without condition, but must be purchased prior to its current owners since it was a private plot.
The municipality paid the amount of 150,000 euros to take over the ownership of the property, and now has launched the works that will eventually give splendor to this stretch, making the Cehegín Greenway "in one of the few the region that has drawn all his flawless, uninterrupted and without deviation, passing through the town, "said the mayor.
These studies, which are divided into two phases have begun with the demolition of the wall that prohibited access to the road, clearing debris, leveling the land, the destruction of branches, the creation of the lane for pedestrians and pilgrims and so on.
Upon completion of the project, this section will be landscaped areas, street furniture, lighting, signage, et cetera.
The first phase will cost 55,000 euros, which have been provided by the Fundació La Caixa and the general direction of the Natural, "so we are very grateful," claimed Soria.
