IU-Greens Cehegín focused discussion of the points on the agenda on public participation, blaming the municipal government with proposals to explore all ways to keep citizens and opposition political groups access to information and participation in municipal management.
Also, the Councillor for IU-Greens, opposed the proposal to delegate powers to the Mayor of the plenary relevant to the Governing Board, arguing that delegation takes away the plenary decision-making capacity and oversight on matters of concern to the municipality of Cehegín Recalling that the House is the highest organ of government oversight and control, where decisions are publicly before the people, unlike the Governing Board where decisions are taken behind closed doors.
The spokesperson for the IU-Greens Maria Jose Rodriguez added that this explains the reasons why the government of the PP is not interested in holding monthly plenary sessions, preferring to take issue to be publicly discussed and agreed in plenary session at the office of Governing Board .
He finished this agenda explaining that guests are not made of stone and opposition despite attempts by the PP to weaken the institutional capacity of the opposition groups.
IU-Green closed the regular session of the first plenary session with the presentation of the motion "Promotion and Creation of Spaces for Citizen Participation in the Management of the Municipality of Cehegín, Murcia"
