Next Saturday, July 9, at 20 hours, will be the Opening Mass of the restoration work of the Church of the Conception to be chaired by the Bishop of the Diocese of Cartagena, José Manuel Lorca Planes.
The event was also attended by the Mayor of Cehegín, Jose Soria Garcia, and representatives of the Ministry of Culture of the Region of Murcia and the Foundation Cajamurcia.
The restoration of the church have an investment of more than one million two hundred thousand euros that have been funded by the Foundation CajaMurcia, City Hall, the Ministry of Culture and the Diocese.
This church, the sixteenth century, Moorish influences and has three naves divided into five sections.
It has the peculiarity that the ship on the left the Chapel of St. John Lateran (eighteenth century), which has wall paintings, such as altars decorated with fake and written fragments of prayers.
