The councilors of Tourism and Forestry Cehegín, April and Joaquín Francisco Marín, respectively, visited the beginning of the refurbishment of a new tourist trail, which passes through the hamlets of El Campillo de los Jiménez, the head and Algezares and as the Ecological Park.
With 20 kilometers, this natural pathway, which is adequate and marked with about 15 information panels, increase cultural tourism and the municipality, especially for nature lovers who can enjoy the Coto de las Maravillas sources Acebuchal Juan Gonzalez and the wildlife refuge, Argos and Reservoir, among other places.
This new route, which is being carried out thanks to a grant of 19,367.35 euros, granted by the Directorate General of Tourism, "could have positive impacts on the economy of this rural area," said April.
In fact, next to the hermitage of El Campillo de los Jiménez is enabling a rest area, which will serve as a point of departure and arrival of the walkers.
This will be a source of drinking water, benches and tables.
Along the route, direction indicators, signs and information panels will interpret the landscape and the hiker will be known curiosities of the places through which it passes.
According to Marin, "these works could be completed in a month."
