The full City Council approved a motion Cehegín joint municipal groups and socialist popular that the municipal facilities of the sports complex 'The almarjal' will be renamed Miñano Javier Espin, in tribute to the trainer of Spanish football.

Also in the motion referred to the beginning of the procedure for appointing Miñano as 'Foster Child' of the town, because, although his parents and relatives are cehegineros and reside in the town, he was born in Madrid.

Javier Miñano was appointed last April, a preacher of the festivity of Cehegín, in honor of the Virgen de las Maravillas, and read their proclamation on 28 August in the same event which crowned the Queen of Feasts 2010 .
