The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia has dismantled a criminal group dedicated to the commission of robberies inside vehicles parked in the town of Cehegín.
The agents have arrested the three members of the criminal group, who are allegedly responsible for at least four criminal acts and were caught by off-duty agents.
The proceedings began on Monday night, April 16, when a cash from the Benemérita, who were out of service, observed in suspicious attitude three individuals loitering around a vehicle parked in the town of Cehegín.
Faced with the possibility that a crime was brewing, he warned the local post.
A patrol, composed of three officers, moved to the area where the suspects had been sighted and, shortly after, they were located in the vicinity.
After verifying the facts, the civil guards verified that the vehicle in which the suspects had been seen showed obvious signs of attempted theft.
Inside were work tools and a mobile phone, all visible from the outside.
After identifying the three suspects, the agents proceeded to arrest them and subsequently put them to judicial disposition as alleged perpetrators of robbery with force inside the vehicle.
The notice of the agent out of service and the rapid response of the citizen security prevention patrol have allowed to thwart the culmination of the criminal act.
The criminal activity began with the selection of vehicles that were parked on public roads.
The hourly schedule of action used to be during the night / early morning, taking advantage of the fact that no one was traveling on public roads, to avoid being surprised.
The crime was usually materialized using force against one of the locks or directly against the door of the vehicle by lever.
Its objective was, supposedly, the theft of different valuables from the interior of vehicles that could be commercialized easily.
After the arrest of the three members of the criminal group, the agents have opened the corresponding investigation that has made it possible to clarify, up to now, four crimes of robbery with force and damages, although the participation of those arrested in more criminal acts is not ruled out.
The Spanish arrested, aged between 18 and 48 years, residents of Cehegín and some of them with a history of similar crimes, along with the proceedings, have been made available to the Court of Instruction No. 1 of Caravaca de la Cruz (Murcia).
