The Governing Council has authorized a grant of 6,917 euros to the Association of Volunteers of Civil Protection of Cehegín to collaborate in the financing of the integral and specialized training of its underwater rescue group.
Tourism development and sports and recreational activity around water are important in the Region of Murcia, which can lead to emergency situations that require the intervention of professionals with experience in underwater lifeguarding.
The agreement contemplates the realization of technical and practical courses in the aquatic environment (sea, rivers and swamps) to increase their specialization and effectiveness in search and rescue methods for underwater rescue and relief.
The Association of Civil Protection Volunteers of Cehegín, non-profit, is the only one in the Region that has a group of divers and rescue volunteers specialized in underwater rescue in the Region.
