The Department of Agriculture, Environment and Forestry, led by María José Martínez, will launch an ambitious environmental education project aimed at students of 1, 3 and 5 of Primary Education in the town.
The purpose of it is to publicize three of the great potentials of the municipality, such as agriculture, cultural heritage and natural areas.
The action has been called "CEHEGÃN AND ITS ENVIRONMENT" and consists of three specific activities directed each to a course in question.
The first one will be "CEHEGÃN Y SU AGRICULTURA" and is aimed at students in the first year of Primary Education of all the schools in the locality.
In it, the children will be made aware of the agricultural potential of the municipality, with special emphasis on a booming product such as the cut flower, and in which a visit to the Canaraflor cooperative and greenhouses in the area will be made.
The second is called "CEHEGÃN AND HER HERITAGE".
It is aimed at students in the third year of Primary Education.
They will take an interpretive tour of the Northwest Greenway to the archaeological site of Begastri, where they will enjoy a guided tour of the same and then learn about the surroundings of the Quípar River.
The last one is called "CEHEGÃN Y SU NATURALEZA", aimed at fifth grade students, and will be held in the Sierra de Burete, where they will make a hiking trail while they know the diversity of flora and fauna that hosts the aforementioned space.
The mayor explained that "it is essential that, from an early age, we are aware of the value of our natural spaces and the greatness of our cultural heritage, which is why we promote these awareness-raising activities aimed at educational centers, as a way of bet on our agriculture, respect our environment, and highlight our culture "
