The Franciscan Archive of the Province of Cartagena, directed by Mr. Pedro Riquelme Oliva, has donated to the Municipal Archive of Cehegín five documents that they found among their documentary collections and that belong to the old Council of Cehegín.
These have been received by the Councilor for Culture, Maravillas Fernández, who has been accompanied by the Municipal Archivist and Assistant Chronicler of Cehegín, Francisco Jesús Hidalgo.
It consists of several manuscripts between the sixteenth and nineteenth centuries, including a copy of a Royal Order of Philip II, of 1591 and a booklet of capitular acts also of the sixteenth century.
This valuable documentation comes to enrich the funds available to us in the Municipal Archive, so that our historical and documentary heritage continues to grow, thanks to the generosity of the Franciscan Archive.
