The Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment will restore during the next months the size of Our Father Jesus Nazareno Cehegín, owner of the brotherhood of the same name and is popularly known as 'The Moraes'.
The General Director of Cultural Property, Juan Antonio Lorca, and the general director of Commerce, Consumption and Administrative Simplification, Francisco Abril, together with the director of the Center for Restoration of the Region, Francisco López Soldevila, met today with the members of the brotherhood and inspected the size that, after Holy Week, will be transferred to the restoration center to carry out a complete study on its status and its subsequent intervention.
Lorca highlighted "the great richness and quality of the imagery of the Region of Murcia, which we contribute to maintain in the best conditions from the Community with different actions and with the work done from the Restoration Center, a leading space and reference thanks to the technical means available to him and the work carried out by the professionals who work there. "

It is the titular image of the Brotherhood Our Father Jesus Nazareno, founded on the year 1740, but that has its origin, under the name of Brotherhood of Our Lady of the Conception, in the last quarter of century XVI.

Once the Holy Week is over, so that it can go out in the processions, "an exhaustive conservation study of this size will be carried out that today we have visually inspected, to detect possible problems of previous interventions or any pathology that may be affecting it, proceeding to its recovery and cleaning with the aim also to contribute to its better conservation ", explained the general director.
Regarding the Restoration Center, Juan Antonio Lorca reiterated "the intense work he always does in the face of Holy Week, since there are several sizes that pass through this space every year to recover their original splendor and that can be admired by citizens while they cross the streets of the municipalities in the different processions ".
At present, the size of San Juan Evangelista by José Capuz, from the Marraja de Cartagena Brotherhood, and the Angel of Passion by Sánchez Lozano, belonging to the Cofradía California, as well as the San Miguel Arcángel by Nicolás Salzillo, remain in their facilities. the parish of San Miguel Murcia.
Work is also being done, among other pieces, on the restoration of the stature of the patron saint of Lorca, Nuestra Señora de las Huertas, and on the recently deposited Neapolitan nativity scene, whose scene of the Nativity is attributed to Francisco Salzillo.
