The City Council of Cehegín has delivered a grant to the Home for the Elderly amounting to 8,000 euros.
The mayor, José Rafael Rocamora, and the Councilor for Social Services, Antonia Fernández, met with the president of the Home for Older Persons, Alfonso Fernández, who has signed this agreement with the Mayor.
Also present was the Secretary, Rosario Fernández.
We remember that these two leaders of this group are part of the new Board of Directors, which was chosen this year, composed, in addition to those mentioned, by Dolores Rocamora de Maya, as Vice President;
Francisco Hita López, as Treasurer;
having as Vocals José Torrecilla Fernández, Antonio Bastida Romera, Francisco Sánchez García, Encarna Baeza Zarco, Rodrigo Corbalán Martínez, Felipe González Sánchez, Juana López Cuenca and Maravillas Giménez Puerta.
Thanks to this grant, this center will be able to carry out numerous activities throughout the year.
Among them, workshops courses, trips, etc;
in short, cultural and social actions that define this association throughout the year.
On the other hand, also signed a collaboration agreement on the transfer of use of the premises that welcome this group in the Palace of the Tercia, where it has its headquarters.
The assignment of the facilities for this purpose is free and the period of validity of the agreement is two years, with extension of two others.
With the signing of this agreement, the City Council intends to contribute to the important role that senior citizens have in our society and especially in our municipality, as well as their active presence in it.
