The patroness of Cehegín, the Blessed Virgin of the Marvels, returned yesterday to her Sanctuary, in the convent of San Esteban of the Franciscan friars, after spending three days in the parish of Santa Maria Magdalena, where a triduum took place in her honor , on the occasion of the patron saint festivities of this municipality of Northwest Murcia.
At 9:00 pm, the parish cross of the church of La Magdalena, where, behind it, in the Plaza del Castillo, the procession was formed, which closed the image of the Virgin.
"The great majority of cehegineros participated, parading or filling the streets through which the route passed," says the Franciscan Francisco Angel Fernandez, chaplain of the Brotherhood of the Virgin and superior of the Order in Cehegín.
"It is a procession of glory and joy, but there was a lot of silence, almost like Easter," says the Franciscan superior.

The celebrations began with a novena, which took place in the Franciscan convent, after which it was moved to the image of the Marvels to the parish of Magdalena, and there the triduum was made, prior to the return of the patron saint to her place of worship, where it is venerated throughout the year.
