The Mayor of Cehegín, José Rafael Rocamora and Antonia Fernández Nieto, Councilor for Social Services, met Manuel Marcos Sánchez, Secretary General of the Ministry of Family and Equal Opportunities.
The purpose of this meeting is to translate the architectural report that sees the culmination of the structure of the auditorium in a residence for the elderly.
"Currently no administration can face the 12 million that would be needed to finish the auditorium, so we will not tire of requesting a change of use that will allow a solution to this problem," has transmitted the Mayor of Cehegín.
The intention of the Consistory is to get the change of use of the facilities to try the search of public and private funding, which allows an exit to this work.
"The Region of Murcia and especially the Northwest has an important demand for places of residence, the few residences we have have long waiting lists to enter," said Antonia Fernandez.
The Mayor of Cehegín has valued the employment that creates this type of services, "against other uses, if the structure of the auditorium were converted into a residence, it would be generating one job for every two users"
