Last Thursday, June 8, farmers, irrigation communities and companies linked to the municipality's renewable energies visited the photovoltaic irrigation facility, located in Villena, mainly aimed at being able to see, on the spot, a project, Which has introduced a new eco-friendly solution that is highly efficient and economical.
This was organized by the councilors of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energies and Agriculture and Environment of Cehegín City Council, Ismael Abellán and María José Martínez.
In the same they could verify that this installation consists in the pumping of the water to a raised raft, all her running only with photovoltaic energy.
The demonstrator is installed, as we mentioned, in Villena, in a well of the General Community of Users of Alto Vinalopó.
The installation has a photovoltaic generator of 360 kWp.
"This project, as explained in the project, is the use of photovoltaic pumping systems for agricultural irrigation that do not consume conventional electricity and save 30% of water. It comes from the price increase that energy is having The fixed part of the invoice is 60-70%, when irrigators only use electricity for some months, not for the whole year. Energy costs account for a large part of production costs, hence A clean alternative has been proposed to generate electricity at a lower cost. "
