The director of the SEF today gave the participants the certificate of professionalism that accredits their skills and increases their options of finding employment in the sector
A total of 15 young people from Cehegín, who do not study or work, have specialized in the care of dependents with a Community program that for one year has alternated training with paid employment.
The project, framed in the program of Youth Guarantee, has received a grant of 162,500 euros from the Ministry of Employment, Universities and Business, through the SEF, and co-financing of the European Social Fund.
After completing the training period, the students have obtained the certificate of professionalism in the specialty of 'Social-health care for dependents in social institutions' that enables them to work as caregivers in day centers and residences of the elderly, both public and Private, serving the elderly, as well as people with physical, mental and sensory disabilities.
The SEF's general director, Alejandro Zamora, presented the participants with the diploma accrediting the course, in a ceremony attended by the mayor of Cehegín, José Rafael Rocamora.
With this title, participants can accredit the professional skills acquired during these months of training and effective work, which increases their chances of finding work.
Zamora stressed the importance of these programs "which allow unemployed young people not only specialize in a specific activity, but also access the labor market with a paid job, as well as achieve a certificate of professionalism with validity throughout the country.
In order to obtain this certification, the students have completed a total of 1,800 hours, of which 1,192 have been of theoretical and practical training with which they have approached contents such as health care, hygiene, psychosocial care and support, as well as leisure And free time.
The remaining 608 hours corresponded to the practical part of the effective work program.
To do this, these 15 unemployed were hired by the City of Cehegín to care for dependent persons in the day center of the municipality, as well as users of the Association of relatives and people with mental illness Northwest (Afmnor) and the hospital of The Real Mercy.
Improve employment in Cehegín
Prior to the awarding of diplomas, Alejandro Zamora met with the mayor of Cehegín to address joint actions that serve to boost the municipality's employment, especially among the groups that have the most difficulty finding work.
Currently, the Consistory has contracted, for a period of six months, five young people enrolled in Youth Guarantee through two Local Public Employment programs, which add a grant of SEF of 40,000 euros.
In this way, three of them work in the Strategic Plan for Economic Promotion, whose objective is to promote the local economy based on the study of the needs of the business fabric of the municipality.
The other two contractors participate in a program of education in values, that will be developed in all the educational centers of Cehegín.
During the meeting also analyzed the evolution of employment data in the locality, where unemployment has fallen in 162 people in the last twelve months, registering a fall of 9.5 percent.
With regard to job creation, the number of affiliates has increased by 278 people in the last year, an increase of 7.7 percent.
