City Council of Cehegín, directed by María José Martínez, has been made in recent days an Awareness Campaign on Animal Welfare, addressed to the students of the schools of Cehegín.
This has consisted of two activities.
The first has been a series of lectures given by monitors of the Association Saving Animals, aimed at the students of the 2nd Primary Education Course, which took place last Thursday 16 and Thursday 23 February in the Different schools.
The objective of the project has been to know the evolution of the relationship between humans and animals throughout history, to facilitate reflection on the consequences of pet abandonment, to raise awareness of the importance of being responsible with our pets and, in General, with all living beings.
The second was based on a talk, addressed to the students of the 4th Primary Education Course, and took place on Tuesday, February 21, at the Cehegín House of Culture.
It was offered by the veterinarian of the company Paf Cilab, SL, concessionaire of the service of pest control, legionella and collection of abandoned animals in the municipality of Cehegín, focused on respect for animals.
It was discussed the role of the veterinarian in our society, the welfare of animals, both company and farm, other functions of animals, good practices for their care, food, hygiene, etc., abandonment of As well as what to do if you see an animal on the street.
As reported by this company, in 2014 more than 60 dogs were collected in our municipality;
In 2015, the collection was 40 and in 2016 the number was 17, which means, as stated by Edil de Medio Ambiente "that these campaigns reach society and have a positive result that impacts on the benefit of everybody".
The Councilor, on the other hand, has expressed "the need to instill in our society values ​​of coexistence and respect for all living beings and the importance of the education of adults tomorrow so that our society is increasingly civilized and our world better every time."
