Today, the Mayor of Cehegín, José Rafael Rocamora, has signed an agreement with the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia through the Ministry of Presidency, directed by María Dolores Pagán, which seeks to strengthen participation Citizen

The main objective of the agreement is to establish the commitment for citizen participation between the Ministry of the Presidency and the city council of the locality, in order to carry out joint activities to encourage citizens' participation in public life and implement actions in the area of ​​transparency .

The City Council of Cehegín is committed, among other things, to promote a municipal regulatory framework in order to encourage active and effective participation of citizens.

It will also focus on enhancing instruments so that this participation is effective and will facilitate the processes so that the citizens become part of the public and political life of the municipality.

We also recall that the Governing Team of Cehegín City Council has been the driving force behind important participatory processes in the municipality, such as the direct election by the citizens of the Mayors-Pedranches, a fact that occurred for the first time in our Democratic history.
