The Concejalía de Festejos, directed by May Molina, continues to prepare what will be the Carnival of Cehegín, which will be held from February 25 to March 4.
This one has communicated the people who have been chosen to hold, in this edition, the "Mask of the Year" award, which wants to reward people who stand out in the Carnival of Cehegín for some reason or particularity;
And "Mascara del recuerdo", which refers to the people, already deceased, who were all a symbol for this emblematic celebration ceheginera.
The Councilor has made public the names that have been winners, chosen by the comparsas.
In this edition, the "Mascara of the Year" has been awarded to Antonio Sánchez Fernández "El Paredes";
And the "Mask in the Remembrance", has fallen on Antonia de la Ossa González, popularly known as Antonia "La Ventanas".
La Edil has stated that "these awards want to be a tribute to the trajectory of these people in our Carnival, their way of living it, transmitting it to others, their heritage with our tradition. A set of values ​​that are the living expression of our Carnival more rooted and more historical ".
On the other hand, it has also been fixed the date of election of the winning poster with which it is intended to announce and promote the Carnival as a sign of identity and rooted tradition of the locality.
It will be next Wednesday, February 8, and will be made public to all media when the ruling will be resolved by the comparsas.
