On this day, the Mayor of Cehegín, José Rafael Rocamora, accompanied by the Councilor for Works and Services, Ismael Abellán, visited the former comedy room of the Franciscan Fathers' Convent, which is being held a few days, organized Parish Caritas "Virgen de las Maravillas", through the project "Begastri", and Fundown (Down Syndrome Foundation of Murcia).
They started this past Tuesday and will continue until tomorrow Friday, February 3rd.
The main objective of the union of these two projects is the socio-labor integration and the improvement of the employability for people at risk of labor exclusion.
During his visit, the members of Cáritas "Virgen de las Maravillas" were also present;
Alejandra Miñano, responsible for restoration of the project "Begastri";
The Coordinator of the Fundown Training Area, Inés Marques Ricardo, as well as the Regional Deputy, José Soria.
Among other things, these days of coexistence will serve to know other realities of society and work as a team;
Share knowledge and experiences, both professional and social, of both projects;
Perform specific tasks on recycling and restoration of furniture or learn techniques about working in nurseries.
We remember that the Begastri project is dedicated, as mentioned above, to the recycling and restoration of furniture for the most disadvantaged people and in which the European Social Fund collaborates, through IMAS and Cáritas.
Through this initiative, the labor insertion is supported and gives opportunities to learn work habits, social and basic knowledge of this trade and its practice, thus increasing the possibilities of access to the labor market.
On the other hand, Fundown Foundation is a non-profit organization whose main objective is to conceive the disabled as a group with the capacity and right to exercise control of their own lives.
